Tribu In Good Company

An invitation

The Back Burner

Kids asleep. Laptops open. Drinks poured.

Your 45-second video sits here.

You'll know me as Katie Sargent, of Katie Sargent Design.

These days I'm Katie Forse, mum to Charlie and Olive, and now a tech founder building Tribu; your family's important paperwork, shared with the people you trust and kept up to date.

Like a lot of parents, I ended up being the one in our house who knew where everything was; the kids' details, the policies, the renewal dates, the myGov logins.

That's not a system. That's one person's memory and a sorry collection of scattered places.

So that's what I'm fixing.

Maybe you're wondering why I'm doing this?

Life admin is unsexy and boring. I must be bonkers, but I've become completely obsessed with making it less so.

Tribu is one half of that. This night is the other. If the admin has to get done anyway, I'd rather we did it together, with a drink, than alone at 11pm feeling behind.

If you leave having ticked a few things off your list, had a laugh and connected with fellow parent designers, that's a win.

The idea is simple; come with three things you've been meaning to sort (aka tasks you've put on your back burner!).

Tasks that can actually be done outside business hours.

Think:

  • myGov checks and updates
  • enrolment forms
  • insurance reviews or comparisons

How the night runs

You arrive, I get you a drink and settled in. Then everyone opens a laptop and we go quiet for a defined period whilst we work on our tasks.

We break, nibble, connect, and do another session.

Who else is coming?

A small group of designers you'll almost certainly know. All of them parents, and all of them, I suspect, carrying a list they'd rather not look at.

I'd love you to bring a fellow parent with you. Anyone who'd enjoy the evening and has their own list to get through.
